Current high school freshmen and sophomores should apply prior to their respective sophomore and junior years. Applications will be available on-line, at the United Way of Central Iowa, from current students or alumni, or through area high schools and youth organizations.

Class Selection will be completed and announced by June 1. Previous classes have included students from fourteen Des Moines Metro Area public and private high schools. The class of 08-09 includes 30 students from nine Des Moines Metro Area schools. Please note that participation in the YLI Program is TUITION FREE.

Application deadline for the Class of 2009-2010 was Friday, March 6, 2009. We will begin taking applications for the Class of 2010-2011 in January 2010.

Selection is now closed for the YLI Class of 2009-2010. All students who applied will be notified on the status of their application no later than April 30, 2009.
